Stevenage Town Centre Artwork

October 19 , Stevenage

Three of the roundabouts in Stevenage town Centre have had the underpasses painted professionally to represent various aspects of life in Stevenage. I thought these might be interesting to photograph, with an idea that I could take components from the images to make a panel of four related themed images for competition later this year. As it’s October I also decided to try where possible to work in some of the autumn colour in the trees around Stevenage. I visited on two separate occasions separated a week apart.

The artwork is actually very good and one of the walls of one of the underpasses features photographs of Stevenage a couple of them from a local photographer that I know.

The lighting, as it was a sunny day, was bright and from the side and with hindsight I should’ve had my polarising filter with me to cut the reflections. Consequently, I don’t know how usable the images are for the panel, and I may have to revisit this project again.

However, very interesting to go and have a close look and quite unique within the towns locally to me.

October 22nd

A second visit to capture the three underpasses between the Football Ground and the Retail Park.
