Autumn Fungi walks
October 9th, Box Wood, Great Ashby
With all the heavy rainfall recently and relatively warm weather I thought it likely that the Fungi in my local woods would have started to grow. I spent around two hours doing a circuit of the areas where I had seen Fungi last year. There were only a few in the floor of the woods, but the decaying fallen tree trunks had a lot of growth from colonies of small fungi.
I had gone out with the X100vi and a small LED light and tripod. As it was dark in the woods the light was invaluable.
October 21st, Box and Priors Wood, Great Ashby
My first attempt at taking multiple images of fungi at different focus points and then stacking them to get an image that is sharp front to back.
Compared to my previous fungi hunt, interesting subjects were few and far between, The only two interesting ones are shown below. The first image had a small LED light placed beneath it, the second one is just natural light. I am quite pleased with the results. The focusing was done manually and there about 5 images stacked in each of these. I think the first image would have been better with a few more images as I can see a couple of small out of focus sections. The third image below was taken on a walk on the 30th October.
