Stonehenge

Stonehenge, Wiltshire. 8th September

The plan was to join one of the out of hours visits to Stonehenge where you are allowed amongst the stones. I had been before a couple of years ago and thought this would be the same format. I had an evening ticket for 6pm, with Sunset at 7:30, I would be the Sun low in the sky but not quite at sunset. However, the format has changed. The Group size is around 50 people, with two guides. Two groups, one in the stones, one out and then a swap over. Very much a tourist guided talk with little opportunity to go and do your own thing. A second problem turned out to be that I had forgotten how to do exposure bracketing, so was shooting against the Sun at F22, every dust spot on the sensor and lens became visible. So lessons learnt, better preparation with planned techniques, and importantly now a waste of time and money for a photographer!
