Dyke Hide (Bourne, Lincolnshire)
December 2nd
This was am all day visit to “Wildlife Photography Hides” new hide. I arrived at 6:20am and was met by Tom the owner. The hide is about 400m away the far side of a field. It is sunk into the ground so you can shoot at eye level to what ever visits. There are two aspects, one shooting down the length of the Dyke, this attracted Jays, Pheaseants and Ravens. The second aspect shoots across a field with the objective of getting images of Birds of Prey. The attraction is a dead Pheasant placed about 10m from the hide. Due to the proximity photography is through an optically good glass window.
Sunrise was great with warm light coming from the right. The images of the Jays below were mainly from this time. The Buzzard arrived around 11:30am and stayed for around 30 minutes .
I will go back again as some visitors have seen more Buzzards squabbling over the carcus and a Sparrowhawk as well.
