Wrest Park

November 7th, Silos, Bedfordshire

During the summer I had seen a picture from the grounds of West Park, that featured the old Bath House. On my previous visits, I had not seen this and it looked a very interesting feature with the promise of a good photograph. I arrived around 1 PM on a mild, dry, but very overcast dull day. The Bath House is situated behind the Orangery and a short walk later, I had found it. At first look it resembles Hagrid‘s house from the Harry Potter films. It is in fact, a plunge pool with an adjacent Changing area. There is an interesting bridge and tunnel in the grounds close by. Unfortunately, much of this was roped off clearly for garden repairs. This limited the access to what I think was probably going to be the most interesting composition. The picture I took is the first one below. I definitely will revisit probably in the spring when there is better access.

The rest of the images below are from a walk around the grounds featuring the Orangery the old Bowls Pavilion, the Chinese Temple and a variety of views up and down the length of the grounds featuring the House, Long Water and the Arther Pavilion.
