Colours Wargames Show

Saturday, the 14th of September a visit to Colours Wargames Show, Newbury.

The colours wargames show is an annual event hosted by the Newbury Reading Wargames Society. It has for a number of years taken place at Newbury racecourse. This is one of the larger events of the year, with a good selection of traders, exhibition games, and a large bring by stand. It is approximately two hour drive from Stevenage. I went along with my old school friend Kevan Smith, who kindly drives to Newbury each year.

I usually take my small Fuji film X100vi camera along to these events to capture some pictures of the demonstration games. This year as I am recording these events in these photographic blogs, I also took a wider number of shots to record the environment and the scene as well as what’s happening on the tables.

I think we spent close to 4 hours at the event, looking round, meeting old friends who have now moved out of the Hertfordshire area. I made a few purchases from some of the traders, and offered to help one of the supplies, Newline Designs, with their website, by sending some images of their figures that I had painted.

An enjoyable day out, a good show, I purchased all of the items on my shopping list, and back home for 4 pm.
