Day Nine - November 13th
The weather suggested an afternoon walk today. So I planned a circular walk starting and ending at Fairlands Valley Lakes and going in a large loop through connected woodlands.
I was trying something different with the camera today. I had taken just one lens, the 56mm F1.2, generally accepted to be an excellent portrait lens. But I was looking to use the very shallow depth of field in the woodland to isolate and focus on specific trees etc. For this it worked well, but as a wildlife lens it was very poor. The Autofocus is so slow the gulls were half out of frame and it only got focus on 10% of the images.

Same Gull, he was very hungry!
A few leaves only on the lower branches
The sunlight was hitting only this one tree
I was going for the impression of depth by focusing on the distant orange leaf
