Battle of Britain Airshow

IWM Duxford, Cambridgeshire 13th September
A friend and colleage from my Camera Club and a fellow volunteer at Duxford gifted my four tickets for this years show. This was initially looking to be a damp Sunday with showers and low cloud delaying the start of the show and cancelling the initial Spitfire flypast. The scheduled Mig 17 got stuck in Belgium due to bad weather, but after about an hours delay the Airshow got under way with the B17G, “Sally B”. A good airshow with the Big Wing flypast at the end consisting of 18 Spitfires and Hurricanes, and the highlight of the show the three Sptfires doing a close formation display with the precision that the Red Arrows would be proud of.
